PRODUCT GUIDE
Make the most of your study session
Find your notes, choose a video for AI, and keep your study material ready to revisit.
A few simple habits make it easier to pick up where you left off. Here are answers to common questions about studying with Clip Insights.
Where do I find the study panel?
Open a YouTube video in desktop Chrome after installing Clip Insights. Your study panel appears beside the player. If the video was already open during installation, reload the page to bring up the panel.
You can manage the extension's access to YouTube from Chrome's extension settings.
When should I sign in?
You can start taking notes, capturing frames and downloading PDFs as a guest. Sign in from the panel's Login button when you want to explore AI summaries, key points and video chat, or upload a PDF to your web library.
Which videos work best with AI?
Choose a video with clear captions. Summaries and chat use the transcript, so a well-captioned lecture or tutorial gives you a useful starting point. Ask about a specific idea, then return to its explanation in the video to check your understanding.
For diagrams, equations and code shown on screen, add a Snapshot and your own note alongside the AI takeaways. See AI and transcripts for examples of useful questions.
How do I return to a saved note?
Open the original video in the same Chrome profile to revisit its timeline. Select a note's timestamp to jump back to that point in the lesson. Give each note enough context that it makes sense when you return a week later.
How do I take my notes with me?
Select Download to save a PDF on your device. Sign in and select Upload to keep an exported PDF in your web library, ready to read from another device.
Your editable timeline stays in the browser where you created it. Keep a PDF copy before clearing browser data, changing profiles or removing the extension. The export guide walks you through both options.
How can I get more help?
Visit Contact with your question or feedback. For help with a particular video, include a public link and a short description of what you were trying to do. Keep private notes and account details out of screenshots you share.
