CLIP INSIGHTS / ABOUT

Built for the moment an idea clicks.

Clip Insights began as a university final-year project, built around a familiar problem: useful video lessons are easy to watch and hard to keep.

Watching a lecture or tutorial often leaves you with a browser full of tabs, a few disconnected screenshots, and an explanation you understood at the time. Finding that explanation again can take another long viewing session.

Clip Insights brings notes and screenshots beside the YouTube player so you can keep a useful moment with your own explanation. A timestamp keeps the connection to the source; a PDF gives you something to review after the tab is closed.

A study tool with a practical purpose

The product grew out of a university final-year project. Its purpose remains simple: help people turn educational videos into useful personal study material.

That means supporting the work you do while learning: noticing a connection, asking a question, preserving a diagram and trying to explain an idea yourself. AI summaries and transcript-based chat can support that process. They do not replace checking a source or doing the practice.

What you can use today

The Chrome extension supports YouTube watch pages, timestamped notes, video snapshots and PDF exports. Signed-in features include transcript-based AI tools and uploading exported PDFs to a web library, within your account allowances.

See Features for the supported capabilities and Guides for clear instructions. Find a way to study that works for your next lecture, tutorial or new idea.
